1) Tutoring in Academics
This is a great side hustle especially for people in high school or college. It’s very inexpensive to startup and can take off quickly. It was Mike’s full time business for years and offered incredible freedom in scheduling. Tutoring is also very lucrative financially, especially with SAT and ACT prep.
YouTube is a great way to build a personal brand and community. You can take it with you and work on it wherever you go. It can take a while to build up to a level where it can support you financially, but this is our ultimate dream job. You need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time to become monitized.
This side hustle has proven to be more lucrative than we initially thought. And there are so many different areas within photography that you can make extra money with. Usually when you think of people doing something in the arts as a profession, you either see them as making a ton of money or not being able to make it all financially. Mike started photography for $10 on his smartphone and turned it into a business capable of earning thousands of dollars per day.
This is a bonus we included in the video (we don’t have much experience with it) because it’s a cool idea and we’ve seen friends become very successful doing this. Buying clothes/furniture at discount stores or garage sales, fixing them up, and selling for a profit.
